Giving Light on Giving Tuesday

"Supporting the 6,500 undergraduate Jewish students enrolled at Hillel 818 campuses is supporting the Jewish future."

“Oh, please” you retort. “What does that even mean?”

Fair point. In the organized Jewish world, professional staff and lay leadership like to shout about the Jewish future, but rarely do we actually define it. So, I will try. When I say, “Jewish future,” I’m dreaming of a world where Jews lean on our unique tradition, history, and community to live lives with more meaning, intention, and goodness.

I’m proud to say that even during Covid – no – especially during Covid, Hillel 818 builds toward that future every single day. We are doing nothing less than changing lives, helping to make the Jewish future brighter one student at a time.

But don’t just take it from me. All month, and especially during this Giving Tuesday week, we’re going to share stories with you from throughout our community that show how Hillel 818 is making a difference. Take it from them – our work matters.

This Hanukkah season, help us continue giving light in a world that often feels dark and scary. Make a meaningful monetary donation to Hillel 818, and together, we’ll build a better Jewish future.
