Join us for ETL Mega Shabbat 2026, Hillel 818’s biggest Shabbat of the year, on Friday, October 23. Parents, alumni, local families, and friends of Hillel 818 are all invited to pull up a chair. Whether you've been part of our community for years or you're joining us for the first time, there's a place for you at this Shabbat table.
ETL Mega Shabbat also celebrates the memory and legacy of our beloved former staff member, Evan Taksar Levental (ETL). Despite her battle with Cancer, Evan stayed committed to Hillel 818 and believed deeply in our mission. Mega Shabbat was renamed to ETL Mega Shabbat in 2025 in her honor.
Come share in the spirit of Shabbat, enjoy delicious food, and be part of a special community gathering that celebrates tradition, legacy, and the future of Jewish life in the Valley.

Jewish Community Archives
On June 2, students and community members joined author Steven J. Ross for an engaging look at the Los Angeles Jewish Federation's Community Relations Committee (CRC) Archives, exploring the Jewish community's fight against antisemitism, fascism, and discrimination in Southern California.
Jewish Arts Festival
Students, our Board, and Community gathered for Hillel 818's Jewish Arts Festival, Shalom Sweet Home. The exhibit featured personal photographs, paintings, and cyanotype participants explored themes of home, identity, and belonging.
