Community Events
We’re so grateful for the vibrant community that supports Hillel 818. Our community events are open not only to students, but to the greater San Fernando Valley as well. Welcoming everyone to connect, celebrate, and experience all that Hillel 818 is and has to offer.
JEWISH ARTS FESTIVAL
This year's Jewish Arts Festival theme, Shalom Sweet Home, explores what it means to feel at home in your Jewish identity. Home can be a place, a person, or a community. Through a diverse range of artistic media, our students bridge themes of heritage, memory, and belonging. Join us on April 30, 5–8 PM at Hillel 818, to view the gallery and support our student Artists.
JEWISH COMMUNITY ARCHIVES
Join us for an evening exploring the Los Angeles Jewish Federation's Community Relations Committee (CRC) Archives — a remarkable collection documenting the Jewish community's fight against antisemitism, fascism, and discrimination in Southern California from 1921 to 2000. Hear from author Steven J. Ross, whose research from this collection informed his book “Hitler in Los Angeles,” as he brings these vital historical records to life. June 2nd, 7 PM, at Hillel 818.
