How do I join or sign up?
You don't need to "join," if you're an undergraduate student in the San Fernando Valley then you are already a member of our community! Occassionally, we have programs that require an advance RSVP, but for the most part you just need to show up! We host a variety of events that you can find in our calendar. Or, find us on campus during our weekly lunches!
Do events cost money?
Nope, all of our events and meals are free.
I want to go to Israel. Can you help me find a Birthright trip?
We can do you one better. We can take you to Israel on one of our Birthright trips! You can go on a trip with other students from the San Fernando Valley!
Does Hillel provide kosher food?
Food that is prepared in Hillel's kitchen is 100% certified kosher. We also only order food from kosher restaraunts and purchase certified kosher food for snacks around the building!
What does Hillel do for Shabbat?
We host Shabbat dinners the first and third Friday of every month during the academic year. Services beginning at 6 PM with a free kosher dinner after. Check out our calendar for the dates and times!
Can I learn Hebrew or take in depth Jewish studies courses at Hillel?
Our Mishelanu group for Israeli-American Hebrew speakers is a great way to practice your Hebrew skills. And we have a number of different Jewish learning opportunities (just check our calendar for the next opportunity!). But to learn Hebrew, or to go more in depth with your Jewish studies, there are a ton of opportunities available!
