Israel Week 2026

Israel Week at Hillel 818 is when students came together to celebrate Israeli culture.

Israeli Dancing

We kicked off the week with Israeli Dancing, where students learned some of the classic dances and celebrated the energy and joy of Israeli culture together.

Yom Hazikaron

In honor of Yom Hazikaron, students gathered to cook dinner together while reflecting on the lives of those who have fallen. Throughout the evening, we shared meaningful recipes and stories, creating space for remembrance, connection, and community.

Chai Society Coffee Cart

We partnered with Chai Society to bring our coffee cart to California State University, Northridge. Students stopped by for coffee and a chance to connect with the Hillel 818 community on campus.

Yom HaAtzma’ut

To celebrate Yom HaAtzma’ut, students gathered for a traditional Israeli-style BBQ filled with great food, music, and community spirit.

Movie Night

Our Israel Fellow, Raz, introduced students to Israeli culture through a fun and engaging movie night. Students enjoyed the opportunity to relax together while exploring Israeli storytelling and entertainment.

Israeli Shabbat

We closed out the week with a traditional Israeli Shabbat dinner. Students came together to share a meal, celebrate Shabbat, and reflect on a meaningful week.
