Training our Leaders

Today at Hillel 818 was all about investing in the student leaders who make our community thrive.

We kicked off the school year with two important leadership moments happening at the same time: intern training and our first Chai Society board meeting of the year. Both groups came together to learn, grow, collaborate, and begin shaping what the upcoming school year will look like from the student perspective.

Leadership development is at the heart of what we do at Hillel 818. We believe that students should have the opportunity to build skills, take ownership, and help create the Jewish community they want to be a part of.

Our Assistant Director, Adena Goss, led our interns through a session focused on the power of welcoming and creating an environment where every student feels like they belong. At the same time, our Israel Fellow, Raz Michaeli, worked with the Chai Society board to begin planning events and opportunities that students can take the lead in throughout the year.

These conversations are just the beginning and after today, we are even more energized for the year ahead and excited to see all that our student leaders will build, lead, and accomplish at Hillel 818!
